The Aeronautic Representation Team of B&H traveled to the World Aero-modeling Championship, which will be held in France from 2nd to 10th August 2013.
The World’s Aeronautical Sports Federation (FAI), which is formed in 1905 and its members are airline alliances of more than 120 countries, organizes every other year the World’s Championship.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) has acknowledged the aeronautical sports but they are not part of the Olympic games.
Aero-modelling National Team is one of the most successful senior sports team of B&H, which from 1996 until now has won 16 medals, of which from the world championships three golden medals and one bronze, and at the European Championship 3 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals.
Since this is a totally amateur sport, the only possible source of funds for Aeronautics Association of B&H are funds from the grants for sports of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, which are not yet allocated for this year, and for this reason there is no Union funds to finance performances of Aeronautic team of B&H in the World’s Championships, thus members of the team are funding this performance.
Our team includes: Siniša Holik, Aero club Ilidža; Mirsad Kapetanovic Aero club Izet Kurtalić; Emir Hajdarević, Aeroclub Izet Kurtalić, Robert Bjelajac, Aero-modeling Club Galeb; Soniboj Sabo, Aeronautic Club Mostar and Adin Ramadanović, Aeronautic Club Mostar.
