The Vice-President of the FB&H Svetozar Pudarić, as chair of the B&H delegation, is participating in the 25th in a row session of the Congress of local and regional governments of the Council of Europe that is begin held in Strasbourg from 29 to 31 October.
‘’Europe in crisis-challenges for local and regional democracies’’ is the name of this year’s Congress session, which will focus on local and regional responses to the economic crisis and challenges in the area of social cohesion.
As part of the debate about how local and regional governments reacted to the economic crisis, there will be sessions on the topic ‘integration through self-employment: improving the entrepreneurship of immigrants in European municipalities’’, ‘’access of immigrants to the regional labor market’’ and ‘’regionalization in Europe in the context of the economic crisis’’, announced Pudarić’s cabinet.
Members of the Congress will also discuss the prospects for effective cross-border cooperation in Europe, regions and territories with special status in Europe and ways to fight against political extremism at the local and regional level.
In addition to Svetozar Pudarić, the B&H delegation in Strasbourg is also made up of the Mayor of Novi Grad Sarajevo Semir Efendić and the Mayor of Mostar Ljubo Bešlić, said in the statement.
