BH Minister of Defense met with Deputy Head of Mission at the US Embassy

Minister of Defense of BiH Marina Pendes and her associates met with the newly appointed Deputy Head of Mission in the US Embassy Ellen Germain on September 5, 2018. They discussed the activities conducted by the Ministry of Defense and AF BiH as well as good cooperation with the US.

Besides the newly appointed Deputy Germain, the meeting was also attended by US military envoy Brigadier Michael Tarquinto and political advisor to the US Embassy in BiH, Mrs. Carrie Giardino.

Minister Pendes welcomed Deputy Germain and introduced her with priority goals and activities of the Ministry of Defense and AF BiH, including the activities related to the NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP), whose activation will start the implementation of the document “Review of Defense”, the contribution of members of the Ministry of Defense and AF BiH in international peacekeeping missions, the co-operation in the defense sector with other countries, especially neighbouring ones, which is very important for maintaining security and stability in the region and the world, as well as continuous process of the reception of soldiers and officers in the AF BiH.

Deputy Germain thanked Minister Pendes for information and professional contribution of members of the Ministry of Defense and AF BiH in peacekeeping missions, and she expressed her support for the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH on their path to Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Minister Pendes thanked for all the support that the USA provides to BiH, which is confirmed by series of visits of US administration to our country, and she especially noted the support of US Defense Minister Mattis to BiH during the meeting of US-Adriatic Charter, which was held in the Republic of Croatia.
