B&H Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović received the USA Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Asia Hoyt Brian Yee today.
They discussed the current political, social and economic situation in B&H, as well as its Euro-Atlantic perspective.
Interlocutors, among other things, agreed that it should not be allowed to abuse the the current situation for any kind of nationalist or secessionist purposes. In this context they assessed that the negative political rhetoric has to stop, because it distracts from the real life problems and has a negative influence on investments. They expressed the hope that all the actors involved in the process of the Euro-Atlantic path would show greater political sensitivity and to find a compromise for solutions.
The interlocutors support the intensification of dialogue between citizens and government at all levels, as well as improving the business environment in the country, which is the only way to create new working places. They concluded that the legitimate demands of citizens should be addressed in a proper way, and that any form of violence in unacceptable and does not contribute to the solving of the current situation.
B&H Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović thanked Mr. Yee for visiting our country, as well as for the overall efforts of USA that for years have contributed to supporting B&H.
