BH Presidency Member: Number of Employees in the FBiH increasing by 1,200 New Employees per Month

IzetbegovićIn a speech on the occasion of marking the 27th anniversary of the founding of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Bakir Izetbegovic, president of the party and member of the Presidency of BiH, commented on the current economic situation in BiH.

“Gross domestic product, industrial production and export-import coverage, all these vital parameters are on the increase. Revenues from indirect taxes are in strong increase as well – more than 200 million BAM of indirect taxes were collected over the plan for the year of 2016, foreign exchange reserves were increased by 675 million BAM and it is a record level. On the record level are deposits as well – citizens have 10, 5 billion BAM in banks, which is also the largest amount recorded so far,” noted Izetbegovic.

He also explained that the FBiH is on its way of fulfilling the promise from the pre-election campaign on 100,000 new workplaces in the next 10 years.

“The increase in direct taxes in the FBiH amounts to 8.51 %, the increase in the number of overnight stays in the FBiH is 27 %, and the number of employees in the FBiH is growing by 1,200 new employees per month. In this way, the pre-election promise of 100,000 new workplaces in the next 10 years proved to be quite realistic. However, it also seems that it was insufficiently ambitious – we must further speed up the process of employment if we want to keep young people in BiH,” said the president of the SDA.

He also added that the problem of lapsed companies “who were not coming off the TV screen, such as Aida, Dita, Konjuh, TTU, Gredelj-Dobosnica and many others” was solved.

“It is necessary to start the cycle of building transport and energy infrastructure in BiH with the aim of a further strong step towards economic stabilization. In order to take favorable loans from international banks, we need to fulfill the condition set by the IMF – the introduction of excise duties in the amount of 15 fenings on the price of fuel,” concluded Bakir Izetbegovic.
