B&H Presidency member Željko Komšić met with Bernard-Henri Lévy, a prominent French intellectual and a friend of B&H on the occasion of setting his play “Hotel Europe”, which speaks about fundamental values of human rights.
Interlocutors exchanged opinions on current situation in B&H and in Europe after the European Parliament election, and they agreed on the need to respect human rights as part of fundamental values of Europe but also the need that B&H steps up on the European integration path. Mr. Levy informed the Presidency member of B&H Komšić on the intent to collect one million signatures to support B&H EU membership.
B&H Presidency member Željko Komšić thanked Levy for his commitment and friendship towards B&H, which has been going on for decades.
He emphasized his view that France has expressed a great interest, through initiative Brdo Process, for the European path of B&H, and has sent a message that the relationship of Europe towards B&H is changing in a positive direction. B&H Presidency member Komšić also said that he believes that perhaps the time has come that B&H submits a formal application for membership, in order that according to new structures of the EU to be expressed the will of B&H citizens to move forward, despite all the difficulties and political obstacles.
