Public Institution of Sarajevo Museum on Friday at the annex “Sarajevo 1878.-1918” will mark the 100 years of Sarajevo assassination.
When it comes to what visitors are expected to see in this annex, the museum states that at the place where, at the time of the Austro – Hungarian Empire was briefly set a monument of Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophia will be set up an information board with basic information about the monument, and the place where was the art piece of Vojo Dimitrijević “Stope Gavrila Principa”, will also be set up an information board with a description and photograph of this art piece.
A large banner on the building of museum is made in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts, as the best work of the competition for the conceptual design of labeling the assassination spot.
The museum will offer commemorative souvenirs, pieces of the award-winning student Amer Mržljak.
Visitors will also be able to rent audio guides, which are also new to the museum, where in English language can get the general information about the setting.
A special attraction for tourists as well as for the citizens, will certainly be the vehicle, made entirely according to the original vehicle in which drove Ferdinand and Sophia, which will be parked and exposed in front of the museum. The car is the work of enthusiasts classic cars and motoring, Edo Kapetanović.
In addition, the Museum of Sarajevo in cooperation with the association “Ecological Society for the protection and breeding of birds Sarajevo” will send a message of peace by releasing 100 white doves.
