Application novovrijeme.baThis is a project, or application, that helps people in the city to move from point A to point B. The application should offer the people of Sarajevo “real time” information about the shortest routes on foot, free parking places, traffic jams, as well as time information about the arrivals of public transportation.

Numerous awards won by our people, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and around the world, testify about how many talented and successful individuals there are in BH society. Still, when it comes to young people in our society, we often prejudice that they are passive and disinterested people.

Three young creators of the application Interactive Map are ‘erasing’ this prejudice lately. This is a project, or application, that helps people in the city to move from point A to point B. The application should offer the people of Sarajevo “real time” information about the shortest routes on foot, free parking places, traffic jams, as well as time information about the arrivals of public transportation.

‘The information was collected from the hardware that we have made and programmed, and then this information is sent through servers in our ‘Interactive map’ application where you can see all the information. This is currently only a prototype. All of the hardware parts, the server of the application are a ‘domestic’ creation and everything is ready to be used in the real world. One of the best features of our application is that it can be used on all mobile platforms, as well as via the browser or web page. Also, we have left space for upgrade to our applications and hardware parts, so that in the future we can add more features such as icons, sensors (temperature, humidity, pollution, etc.)’, says Semir Šakanović,, one of the creators of the application who worked on its hardware, for Novo Vrijeme.

Adi Mešić (mobile platforms), Ammar Hadžić (cloud fraction), and Semir Šakanović (hardware) worked on this project. This project could be significant because it may make it easier for citizens and tourists to use public transportation and help drivers to avoid traffic jams and find parking.
