The editorial board of BHT1 is launching an initiative to file a lawsuit against the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all those responsible in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina for non-compliance with the Law on the Public RTV System of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a result of which the Public RTV Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT) was brought to ruin.
“Although we have been warning and insisting on compliance with the law for several years, the representatives of the competent institutions have not offered concrete solutions, which is why BHRT workers are no longer able to broadcast the program regularly,” the announcement states.
It is further stated that BHRT’s accounts, despite the court rulings, are still blocked, which means at the moment that BHRT’s broadcast of the matches of the Football National Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the “League of Nations” is questionable.
“Until now, with superhuman efforts, we have successfully implemented sports and all other projects, but despite all the desire to continue, we are now unable to because of administrative barriers, i.e. blocked accounts,” they pointed out.
They emphasize that appeals to all competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as entity institutions, have not borne fruit.
“Even during the election campaign, the representatives of political subjects showed how much they care for the state and the Public RTV Service of the Citizens of BiH (BHRT). None of them made any effort to unblock BHRT’s accounts, and for the workers to receive their earned benefits,” the Board of Directors stated.
Due to all of the above, the live broadcast of the afternoon show “BHT1” and the weekend edition of “Jutra za sve” will be suspended from Friday.
“Our teams cannot go to the field and we are not able to report from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is our mission. In the coming days, we will make decisions about additional program restrictions”, they emphasize.
Once again, they call on the competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to urgently bring a systemic solution to the collection and distribution of the RTV tax and thus provide BHRT workers with normal working conditions.
