Biden announced Military aid worth 225 million dollars

US President Joseph Biden promised to continue supporting Ukraine and announced additional military aid to Kiev worth 225 million dollars at a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris.

“The US will be with you,” Biden told Zelensky after both attended D-Day commemorations in northern France today.

Biden expressed regret that the US Congress was late in adopting a decision on sending new aid to Ukraine, reported AFP.

“You did not give in. You did not give in at all. You continue to fight in an extraordinary way,” said the US president to Zelenskiy.

The new package includes air defense missiles, artillery ammunition and other “key” military assets, according to a statement from the White House.

“The president emphasized that US support for Ukraine is unwavering,” the statement said, adding that the two leaders agreed to meet again at the upcoming Group of Seven summit in Italy.

In a separate statement, the US Department of Defense said the package would provide Ukraine with weapons to “meet its most urgent needs on the battlefield”, including Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, ammunition for Heimars systems and 155mm and 105mm artillery shells.
