Adis Ahmetovic (31), a member of the German Bundestag of Bosnian and Herzegovinian (BiH) origin, has shared some heart-wrenching news. He has been diagnosed with cancer, fortunately, a curable one.

“I am a social democrat with strong convictions. I carry out my duties as co-chair of the Hanover SPD with a lot of passion and dedication, and since September 2021, as a directly elected member of the Bundestag,” Ahmetovic began his emotional confession, informing his followers about his illness.

He has been diagnosed with cancer.

“Although this diagnosis has deeply affected my family and me, the positive message from the doctors is that the cancer is curable. For this reason, I will undergo appropriate treatment that will require rest and strength. After intensive discussions with doctors, I am very confident that I will recover,” he emphasized.

He stressed that after a complete recovery, he will gladly continue his tasks with the same passion as before.

“In the meantime, I will be a bit quieter. My offices in Hanover and Berlin will continue to address your concerns and will be available to you at any time,” he reassured German citizens, adding that he looks forward to seeing them again soon.

Ahmetovic is the right hand of the Prime Minister of the state of Lower Saxony, and although he is young, he already has vast experience in politics, having entered it at the age of just 15.

In his work in Germany, he is very focused on BiH, as well as the Western Balkans.
