The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, sent a letter to the newly elected members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, on the occasion of BiH Statehood Day.

“On behalf of the people of the United States, I send our best wishes to you and the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina as you celebrate your Statehood Day,” wrote Biden.

The United States strongly supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multiethnic character.

“We call on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s leaders to put aside differences and work towards building a better future for the people they represent – including by quickly forming governments at all levels and enacting reforms required to secure Bosnia and Herzegovina’s place in the Euro-Atlantic community of nations,” added Biden in his letter.

Furthermore, in the year ahead, Biden stated that he is looking forward to “strengthening the friendship between our people and deepening our cooperation – including on security, energy diversification, and countering corruption.”

“The United States will continue to support peace, security, and prosperity in Bosnia and Herzegovina for all its citizens” concluded Biden in his letter to the BiH Presidency on the occasion of the BiH Statehood Day.
