Washington will continue to provide weapons to Israel until that country is completely freed from the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, US President Joe Biden said at a reception in the White House on the occasion of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.
“We will continue to provide military aid to Israel until Hamas is completely destroyed, but we have to be careful,” Biden said.
He warned that the world community’s position on the whole situation could change due to the nature of Israel’s military operations.
“The public opinion of the whole world can change overnight, we must not allow that to happen,” said the American leader.
Biden stressed that the US will continue to provide humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
“We will continue to lead the world in humanitarian aid to innocent Palestinian civilians, stressing to our friends, our Israeli friends, that we must protect civilian life,” Biden said.
The US president expressed concern about the rise of anti-Semitism in the US and around the world in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, TASS reported.
“The rise of anti-Semitism in the US and around the world – it’s sickening,” Biden said, adding that the US has no intention of turning its back on the problem, Srna reports.
