At yesterday’s session in Sarajevo, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) adopted five programs for spending funds with distribution criteria, determined by this year’s FBiH budget to the Federal Ministry of Health, and intended for health care improvement in the total amount of 32 million BAM.

Of the five programs, as Assistant Federal Minister of Health Marina Bera said at a press conference, two relate to the FBiH Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute, and one to the Federal Ministry of Health, Institute for Transfusion Medicine of FBiH, and the Agency for Quality and Accreditation in Health of FBiH.

”One of the programs related to the FBiH Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute concerns funds intended for financing the procurement of medicines and medical devices, health services, and the implementation of the Federal Solidarity Fund, which are determined by the health care program financed through the Solidarity Fund and are in line with the financial plan of that fund for 2022. These are funds in the amount of 29 million BAM,” stated Bera.

The second program, she added, also refers to the FBiH Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute, that is funds in the amount of two million BAM are transferred to the FBiH Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute and relate to the financing of health care for displaced persons. Bera noted that this program continues to ensure the right to hospital treatment for returnees from the FBiH to municipalities in the Republika Srpska (RS), and services are provided in various hospital health facilities in the FBiH.

According to her, the program, which also ensures continuity, refers to the health care of Romani people who do not have a place of residence in FBiH and amounts to 35.000 BAM.

”The Institute for Transfusion Medicine of the FBiH is also allocated funds in the amount of 1.125.000 BAM. The fifth adopted program refers to the Agency for Quality and Accreditation in Health of FBiH, and it is the amount of 300.000 BAM and refers to the co-financing of this agency,” Bera added.
