Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Vojin Mitrovic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Capital Investments of Montenegro Ervin Ibrahimovic signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation on the Implementation of Infrastructure Projects between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of Montenegro on Thursday in Sarajevo.

”This is a continuation of our cooperation because in July of last year we signed an agreement in Ljubljana, and today we signed a memorandum that will finally allow, after a long time, to begin the construction of the Hum-Scepan Polje bridge and to finally finish the section of the road from Foca to Hum,” Mitrovic said on Thursday.

”It is a section that is about 20 kilometers long. We have done the projects for the bridge and the road, we have provided the funds so that we have created the conditions so that the teams that will be working can continue and that this project will finally be completed,” he added.

A big step forward

The Minister of Capital Investments of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimovic, expressed satisfaction with the signing of the memorandum on cooperation with BiH.

”The signing of the memorandum is the beginning of what the citizens of both countries want, and that is for our roads to be a confirmation of good relations. BiH and Montenegro have excellent bilateral and friendly relations. Unfortunately, the road infrastructure does not reflect our good relations. I believe that today we made a big step in this direction and that in the coming period we will put a strong emphasis not only on the construction of this bridge but also on other parts that connect these two countries,” Ibrahimovic said 2 days ago.

The relationship between BiH and Montenegro is an example

He pointed out that through this memorandum they want to continue the story of the Adriatic-Ionian highway and the construction of the railway between Niksic and Capljina.

He recalled that BiH citizens are among the most numerous tourists in Montenegro and that Montenegrins visit BiH with pleasure, and that the ties between the two countries are a true example in the Western Balkans of how relations should be nurtured.

”Finally, the two countries have put their signatures on what should have been done a long time ago. I also believe that my respected colleague Mitrovic, and the Government of Montenegro, will put a stronger emphasis on completing this story when it comes to the bridge, as well as all those connecting roads,” he added, Avaz reports.
