The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina shared the news on social networks.

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dino Konaković, today handed a diplomatic passport to our queen of sevdah, Hanka Paldum. With her unique voice and art, Hanka Paldum has occupied a special place in the culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina for decades, leaving an indelible mark on the sevdah and musical heritage of our country,” they stated at the beginning of the announcement.

Along with the publication, they added photos of Hanka Paldum and Minister Elmedin Konaković from the meeting held in Sarajevo.

“The diplomatic passport is a recognition of the artist who, with her work, talent and dedication, made an exceptional contribution to the music of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the promotion of our country in the world. Performing on world stages, she conveyed the beauty of our culture, tradition and identity through song, bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to audiences around the world,” they stated.

At the end of the publication, they thanked her for her contribution, preservation and affirmation of sevdah as one of the most valuable symbols of our cultural heritage.

“Thank you for everything she has done and for her contribution to the preservation and affirmation of sevdah as one of the most valuable symbols of our cultural heritage. We wish her many more years filled with song and audience applause,” they added.
