Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez is on a multi-day official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

During the first day of the visit, Minister Helez visited the Defence College for Military Capability Integration (DCMCI), which operates within the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, based in Shrivenham.

– I am impressed by the high level of developed capacities for military education that I had the opportunity to see during my visit to the College for Military Capability Integration, whose mission is to strengthen technological advantages and improve the decision-making process in the defence system. This college has its roots in technical military education since 1772 – said Helez.

Special impressions relate to the areas in which the college provides education and professional support, including: weapons, ammunition and explosives, cyber security, digital and information skills, as well as battlefield technologies – the Ministry of Defence of BiH announced.

During his visit to the college, Minister Helez met with members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina who are currently undergoing military training, thereby confirming the BiH Ministry of Defense’s commitment to ensuring the highest level of military education for its members. This visit further confirms the exceptionally good bilateral cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom in the field of defense and military education.

So far, 39 cadets from Bosnia and Herzegovina have completed their education at military academies in the United Kingdom, while three cadets are currently studying. In addition, 25 members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have graduated from military colleges, while three more are currently undergoing advanced training.

The Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to further strengthening this cooperation, as well as improving the knowledge and capabilities of its members in line with modern security challenges – the statement reads.
