The Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Minister of Defense Zukan Helez, with the Deputy Minister of Defense for Policy and Plans Slaven Galić and the Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH for Resources, Major General Gojko Knežević, traveled on Tuesday, on an official visit to the Holy See in the Vatican.
On Wednesday, September 20, Minister Helez, Deputy Minister Galić and General Knežević will attend the general audience, which will be held by the Holy Father. The delegation of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH will meet with Pope Francis and the highest officials of the Vatican, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary of State of the Holy See.
Also, the delegation of the MoD and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will officially visit the NATO Defense College in Rome, which has been supporting the education of high-ranking officers and civil servants of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the strategic level for more than a decade.
The meetings will discuss the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Holy See, religious pastoral care in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the education of professional personnel from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the possibilities of further building mutual trust in Europe and the Western Balkans region.
