The possibility of an outbreak of conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans is very low, Mijo Kresic, our country’s deputy defense minister, told BHRT.
Speaking on the BHT1 live show, he said that we are in a special status here and that there is no need for these things.
“I don’t think there are any similarities in the Western Balkans with that part of Ukraine and the Baltics. We live in a different environment. I don’t see the need and my personal position that we need to intensify internal talks. We are here in a special status. We have NATO command and EUFOR, like other missions, has a very low level of conflict. ”
It is good that we have an international factor and we have countries in the region that are involved in NATO and other structures. He especially emphasized the growing panic over the dissemination of all kinds of information.
“The reflection of the war in Ukraine will be seen here as well in economic and economic terms. We see how people are confused and point out that the government is panicking, that they are buying supplies, etc.”
What happened in Ukraine happened, said Kresic, and whether it could have changed: can a car accident be avoided – probably it can, but it happened.
“All these activities that were conducted before did not provide an opportunity to be resolved without Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. We have a brutal war that will flare up, with significant destruction, casualties, displacement of people from these areas. Cruelty and horrors of war destruction can now be seen to return to the reality we had in that area. ”
We see that the leadership and army of Ukraine did not believe in the invasion.
“Putin’s comments were confusing, and foreign intelligence had good information. Perhaps the Winter Olympics also conditioned the invasion not to take place on the day previously announced, or those days during the Games. Surely a Chinese colleague asked Putin not to it is doing so until the games are over. Also, intelligence agencies have been consciously leaking information about Russia’s plans so that these must change. ”
He also referred to the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning Ukraine.
“Obviously there are major divisions within politics in BiH. We have to define ourselves. We have limited power and influence both in Europe and globally.”
