Chairman Zvizdić thanked the WTO for help and support in achieving objectives for accession to the WTO and said that BiH is fully committed to the integration of economy into the international multilateral trade system and to the creation of its own trade legislature, based on rules and principles on which this organization rests. Zvizdić highlighted that membership in the WTO is one of the primary aims of the foreign policy of BiH and said that it conveys a positive message to the foreign investors that BiH is a legally regulated country where the principles of business are respected.

Director Osakwe said that the aim of their visit to BiH is to inform all pertinent actors about the progress of BiH when it comes to the accession process of BiH to the WTO. Osakwe informed Zvizdić about the status of the remaining negotiations with Brazil, Ukraine and Russia and expressed hope that this process will be completed soon and the market of BiH included into the world trade system.

Chairman Zvizdić and Director Osakwe agreed that BiH is a country with European perspective and that they expect that after the remaining conditions are met BiH will access full membership in the WTO by the end of the year.

The meeting was attended by the new president of the task force for accession of BiH to WTO, the Hungarian Ambassador Rajmund Kiss and resident representative of BiH in the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Lucija Ljubić, stated the Council of Ministers of BiH.
