The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, said today that the institution headed by him managed to visit all important addresses several times in the past 12 months, in order to return Bosnia and Herzegovina “to the table where decisions are made about us and prevent any misinformation different centers of interest”.

At the annual press conference, Konaković stated that 11 official visits by foreign ministers in BiH were made in 12 months, and that more than 130 meetings were held with high-ranking foreign officials.

He pointed out that BiH is significantly closer to membership in the European Union (EU), especially when it comes to harmonizing the visa policy with the EU, which is imperative from the Stabilization and Association Agreement.

Konaković stated that the United Arab Emirates, Iran and Argentina canceled the visas of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s citizens, which, as he said, BH passport received on value.

He added that he was particularly proud of the successful evacuation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. citizens from Gaza, which even some major world powers failed to do, and that the procedure for evacuating four families from Sudan was initiated.

Konaković told the Serbian authorities that their actions lead them to international isolation due to cases such as the detention of actor Feđa Štukan and singer Selma Bajrami. He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina will not reciprocate with the same measure because, stressed Konaković, it respects everyone’s freedom of speech.

He confirmed certain media reports that the Ministry bought the vehicle in which he drives for 130,000 KM, and that this was done through a transparent and public process.

Regarding the letter he received from the head of the cabinet of BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović about the vote of BiH Ambassador to the United Nations Zlatko Lagumdžija, Konaković said that there can be no compromise on the Stabilization and Association Agreement or absolute harmonization of BiH with EU positions.

He announced that in the coming period he plans to visit Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany, which have expressed skepticism about BiH’s membership in the EU, in order to present them with new information about the processes in our country.

He recalled that he found a neglected state and numerous irregularities in the Ministry, some of which were forwarded to the competent prosecutor’s offices.

Konaković explained that in relation to the current systematization, the Ministry lacked about half of the necessary personnel, which was compensated by the return of part of the staff from the DKP network.

He added that for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina he was introduced to the procedure of the Law on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and announced the imminent launch of an e-portal in the entire DKP network and online application for Bosnia and Herzegovina. visas, and new pages of the Ministry and portal for economic diplomacy, Fena news agency writes.
