Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met today with members of the cabinet of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Christian Aulbach and Alexander Wallau.

Konaković expressed his satisfaction with the good and friendly relations between the two countries and expressed his gratitude for Germany’s continued support for reform processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The head of BiH Diplomacy pointed out that BiH will continue to be a constructive partner to all its neighbors, dedicated to promoting peace, stability, security and prosperity in the region, as well as strengthening regional cooperation, all within the framework of its strategic foreign policy goal – full membership in the EU.

Konaković introduced the interlocutors to the current internal political situation in our country, the dynamics of reform processes, as well as the work of the BiH Council of Ministers.

He reminded that the Council of Ministers of BiH, which prioritizes commitment to the European Union, in the past period adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH, the Strategy for the Fight against Organized Crime, the Program of Economic Reforms for the period 2023 – 2025, the Action Plan for the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing in BiH for the period 2022-2024, as well as several other decisions, drafts and strategic documents.

During the conversation, the interlocutors pointed out the importance of harmonizing the positions of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the positions of the European Union, especially when it comes to EU declarations and measures.

Cabinet members Aulbach and Wallau confirmed the firm commitment of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to dialogue and support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region of the Western Balkans in their efforts to join the European family as soon as possible, announced the Press Service of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
