BiH FM met with the Minister for Foreign Trade of the UAE

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, spoke today, on the sidelines of the Annual Investment Congress in Abu Dhabi, with the State Minister of Foreign Trade and Vice-Chairman of the Council for Industrial Development of the United Arab Emirates, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.

The interlocutors expressed their satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Arab Emirates and expressed their expectations that in the coming period, economic cooperation will improve on the investment and economic level, especially in the field of tourism, energy, infrastructure and industry.

Konaković informed the interlocutor about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Council’s decision to open negotiations for BiH’s membership in the EU, and the implementation of reforms in our country with the aim of creating a better business environment.

Al Zeyoudi pointed out that there is a great interest of investors from the UAE in new investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans region. In this context, he emphasized that it is necessary to speed up the signing of the agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the UAE, which would encourage investors and improve economic cooperation.

He expressed his satisfaction that he will participate in this year’s 13th Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF), an international investment conference that will be held in Sarajevo on May 22 and 23 this year.

During the meeting, the cooperation that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Arab Emirates are achieving on a multilateral level, the exchange of opinions and positions on current security challenges and global topics was also discussed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
