Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković is participating in the ministerial conference “Restoring Justice for Ukraine” which is being held in The Hague, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Ministry of Justice and Security of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, announced the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Minister Konaković addressed the audience during the first part of the work of the ministerial conference.
The announcement states that in his address, Minister Konaković emphasized support for Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and condemned the aggression, stressing that Bosnia and Herzegovina fully supports the positions of the European Union from the very beginning.
“From our own experience, we know more than anyone how important it is to ensure responsibility for all violations of international law committed in or against Ukraine. These crimes must be punished,” Minister Konaković said.
Konaković said that Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomes the establishment of the International Center for the Prosecution of Crimes against Ukraine at EUROJUST, then the progress achieved by the Basic Group in connection with the establishment of a special court for the investigation and prosecution of crimes of aggression against Ukraine, as well as the establishment of the Register of Damages.
The minister referred to the experiences in the field of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cooperation with ICMP and their DNA laboratories, where the close cooperation of domestic and foreign experts led to the identification of more than 75 percent of reported missing persons in BiH and expressed his willingness to share experiences with Ukraine.
The minister called on the international community to show solidarity with Ukraine, to ensure the prosecution of crimes and respect for the principles of international law, Fena news agency writes.
