BiH Foreign Minister: Healthy Forces are winning, Challenges on the European Path lie ahead

The goal of all of us, and above all the responsibility of politicians, is to maintain the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and preserve the hard-won peace. I believe we are succeeding in that, that the attack on the constitutional order of BiH is gradually subsiding, that Milorad Dodik’s plans have not taken root – most importantly, not even among the Serbian people, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konakovic, yesterday in Bugojno.

Konakovic emphasized that the way Dodik treats dissenters shows what kind of person he is.

“The laws he passed to persecute Serbs who do not follow him in that schizophrenic secessionist policy speak best to what kind of man he is,” said Konakovic.

He stated that healthy, normal, pro-European forces are winning in this, as he put it, difficult turbulence, which is still ongoing but waning.

“We face the challenge of not losing momentum on the European path, of adopting those two famous laws, selecting the chief negotiator, and officially starting negotiations with the European Union (EU). Maybe already in June, since we missed the opportunity in March because of Dodik, and by doing so, we would send a message that this country has a future, that we can keep young people here, and perhaps even intrigue those who have left to start thinking about returning home,” Konakovic stated.
