The Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Bisera Turković, spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain, Jose Manuel Albaras Bueno.

The two foreign ministers mostly discussed the European integration process of Bosnia and Hercegovina.

The ministers discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation.

Minister Turković advocated for the support of the decision on candidate status for BiH, which is expected to be declared by the Council of the European Union.

Spain confirmed that Bosnia and Herzegovina can count on the support and a positive attitude, hoping that intensive activities will continue to meet the requirements of the European Commission’s recommendations.

The ministers also touched on the current political situation in the region and in Bosnia and Herzegovina and agreed on new meetings and more concrete measures to strengthen economic and political cooperation.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Mediterranean Union forum, which starts today in Barcelona, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
