The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, spoke today with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zaher Alkhurainej.
On that occasion, Minister Konaković assessed the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kuwait as good and friendly, and emphasized our country’s interest in improving economic cooperation and attracting Kuwaiti investors.
Speaking about the current political situation in our country, the minister emphasized Bosnia and Herzegovina’s firm determination to continue fulfilling the conditions on the way to EU membership, which will make it more attractive for potential foreign investors.
During the meeting, the importance of exchanging visits at a high and highest level in the coming period was highlighted. In this regard, Minister Konaković informed the ambassador of his intention to officially visit the State of Kuwait in October or November of this year, and expressed interest in the visit of Kuwaiti officials to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting also discussed the resolution of administrative obstacles for citizens of Kuwait in connection with the issue of acquiring ownership of real estate in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ambassador Alkhurainej informed Minister Konaković about the elections held in June this year and the formation of the new Government of Kuwait. Referring to the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the ambassador particularly emphasized that it is necessary to improve cooperation in the fields of business, education and health.
During the meeting, the interlocutors also emphasized good mutual cooperation regarding the exchange of support in candidacies for positions in international and regional organizations.
In this regard, Ambassador Alkhurainej informed Minister Konaković about Kuwait’s candidacy for membership in the UN Human Rights Council for the period 2024-2026.
Both sides expressed the belief that the overall relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Kuwait will continue to develop to the mutual benefit of the two countries.
