Zlatko Lagumdzija, Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to the United Nations (UN), met with Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil during the annual assembly of the Madrid Club, the World Leadership Alliance, held in Brazil.
Lagumdzija spoke about the situation in BiH and the Western Balkans, the open calls of the secessionists to destroy the Dayton Peace Agreement, and he introduced him to the activities of BiH that are being conducted on the political and institutional level of strengthening the BiH statehood as a factor in preserving peace and security both in the country and internationally.
Minister Vieira expressed full support for the strengthening of BiH as a factor in the stability of the wider region, with special reference to Brazil’s activities as a member of the UN Security Council and multilateral groupings of the world’s leading countries.
Zlatko Lagumdzija is a member of the Madrid Club, an alliance that brings together 120 democratically elected former heads of state and government. This year, he was the keynote speaker at the panel dedicated to building societies of shared values as a framework for sustainable development in a just and inclusive society.
He emphasized that without stopping the hot spots of war in Ukraine and Gaza, space is being created for the continuation of the organized destruction of international law and the opening of new conflicts in the Western Balkans with unforeseeable consequences for peace and security in wider European areas, Klix.ba reports.
