The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković met today with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to BiH Rezeq Namoora.

The interlocutors assessed the bilateral relations between BiH and the State of Palestine as good and friendly.

They also emphasized their commitment to further improving cooperation, and they exchanged opinions on the current situation in our country and Palestine.

Konaković informed the Palestinian ambassador about the European path of our country and the commitment of the coalition partners at the state level to fulfill the priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission (EC).

He expressed hope that BiH, after the adoption of a series of laws this month, will be able to accelerate the momentum on the way to the EU, in order to realize the remaining obligations and open the process of negotiations for EU membership.

When it comes to the situation in Palestine, Konaković stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina supports all constructive efforts that are being made in the direction of a peaceful end to the Arab-Israeli conflict and the establishment of lasting peace.

He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready, within its capabilities, to contribute to the peace process.

Ambassador Namoora thanked for the support that Bosnia and Herzegovina provides to the Palestinian people. He emphasized that the State of Palestine and its leadership support the European path of friendly BiH and its reform processes.

During the meeting, information was also exchanged about the finalization of the process of concluding the Agreement on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports, and the continuation of bilateral consultations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Palestine.

Konaković informed Ambassador Namoora that he intends to visit Palestine as he has received an official invitation from the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Riad Malki, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
