BiH: Increase in Exports in January

BiH had exports worth 607 million KM in January of this year, which is 8.4 percent higher than in January 2012, while imports amounted to one billion and 21 million KM, which is higher by 2.3 percent.

“The coverage of imports was 59.4 percent, while the foreign trade deficit amounted to 414 million KM and is less by 5.4 percent in relation to the deficit in January 2012”, said the Director for the Agency for Statistics Zdenko Milinović to journalists today.

Exports to CEFTA countries was 150 million KM, which is 3.8 percent more than in January 2012, while the imports amounted to 211 million KM, which is 6 percent less than in January of last year. Coverage of imports by exports amounted to 70.8 percent.

Exports to EU countries amounted to 383 million KM, which is 5.2 percent more than in January 2012, while imports amounted to 484 million KM, which is 5.5 percent more than in January of last year. Coverage of imports by exports amountd to 79.3 percent.

As until now, the most important trade partners of BiH are Germany, Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Serbia, Austria and Russia.
