Tonight, at the session of the UN General Assembly, Bosnia and Herzegovina joined the Statement of the European Union on the situation in Ukraine.
The statement, among other things, strongly condemns the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in Ukraine as independent republics and the decision to send Russian troops to these areas.
The decision for our country to join this statement was signed by BiH Ambassador to the UN Sven Alkalaj.
The move of our country was explained by the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Zeljko Komsic. With the Stabilization and Association Agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina has undertaken to follow the foreign policy of the European Union.
The statement at the United Nations was proposed by the European Union, and it is logical that BiH will follow that statement and EU policy, said Komsic.
