The Federal Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees, Nerin Dizdar, was on Thursday at the Consulate General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Milan, where he held a meeting with journalist Ezio Gavazzeni, who investigates war crimes during the siege of Sarajevo, known as “Sarajevo Safari”.

During the meeting, the importance of engaging in clarifying the facts and contributing to establishing the truth about this extremely sensitive and complex issue was emphasized.

In an open and meaningful conversation, available information about this crime was exchanged, with an emphasis on the need for further responsible and thorough investigation of all allegations.

Minister Dizdar handed journalist Gavazzeni a copy of the book “Crime against the children of Sarajevo under siege”, which contains the names of the murdered children of Sarajevo and is a permanent testimony of the suffering of the youngest during the siege.

During the meeting, mutual respect was expressed, as well as support for efforts aimed at preserving the truth and the culture of memory.

Minister Dizdar emphasized that such processes are extremely important, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for the wider European and international context, especially when it comes to dealing with the past and strengthening responsibility for committed crimes.

It was pointed out that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will provide all kinds of support for activities aimed at uncovering the full truth, including establishing the identity of all those who may have participated in these difficult and shocking events.
