BiH Minister of Defense meets New UK Adviser for Defence Reform in BiH

Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez today welcomed, during an official visit, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Julian Reilly, on which occasion the new UK Adviser for Defence Reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Holly Campbell-Stevens, was formally introduced.

Adviser Holly Campbell-Stevens will have her office located within the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Helez handed over the office keys to Campbell-Stevensand wished her success in her upcoming work on strengthening the defence system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I am confident that we will all benefit significantly from cooperation with Adviser Campbell-Stevens. Her presence here testifies to our shared commitment to building and strengthening strong relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom. Adviser Campbell-Stevens will be provided with all necessary conditions for successful and unhindered work,” Helez said.

Ambassador Reilly emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an important partner of the United Kingdom within the broader Euro-Atlantic area, adding that the strong support for thedevelopment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovinawill continue, in line with the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration needs and the objectives of NATO’s Partnership for Peace programme.

“I would like to stress that the role of Adviser Campbell-Stevensis to act as your advisor, and I believe that, with her extensive experience within the UK defence system, she will contribute to the further development of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as tostrengthening ties between our two countries,” Reilly said.

During the meeting, discussions focused on current activities and development plans of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the implementation process of the Defence Review of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as future directions of bilateral military cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom.
