The Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija and his deputy Muhamed Hasanović today met with the head of the World Bank Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christopher Sheldon and spoke about the implementation of projects financed by that international institution.

Given that the Council of Ministers of BiH appointed Minister Tegeltija as the Governor of BiH at the World Bank, the meeting focused on the current projects, as well as those that are yet to be agreed upon, as the Partnership Framework with BiH for the period 2023-2027 was also passed.

Tegeltija emphasized that the cooperation with the World Bank has been good both in terms of project financing and consulting services.

It was pointed out that some important projects are only in the initial phase for conducting negotiations, while some contracts have already been signed, but their ratification in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly is still on hold.

The interlocutors agree that it would be desirable to speed up and improve the procedures on both sides because currently, the World Bank has approved 638.5 million US dollars in 12 active investment projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to Sheldon, this year the World Bank will continue its activities on projects in the forestry sector, air quality protection and the development of health system policies in BiH, stated the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH.
