Investigators from the State Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA) have arrested Bojan Bošnjak, the Minister of Municipal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection in the Government of Sarajevo Canton, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority.
Bošnjak was arrested in an operation codenamed “Incitat 2”, which was conducted by SIPA in cooperation with the Sarajevo Canton Anti-Corruption Office.
After criminal processing by SIPA, the suspect will be handed over to the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office.
Operation “Incitat 2” was carried out based on orders from the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office.
The Prosecutor’s Office previously stated that during the search at the Ministry, documentation regarding illegal construction on Bjelašnica was seized.
The Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office suspects that a Bosniak gave a positive opinion on the report on the strategic environmental impact assessment, which sought to legalize illegal urban development projects on Bjelašnica for suspects Ibro Beril, the mayor of Trnovo, and his associate Nađa Milišić.
