The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, is on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, where he met today with President Ilham Aliyev. During the meeting, it was pointed out that further improvement of relations between the two countries in the field of security, as well as improvement of economic cooperation, is necessary.

Nešić and Aliyev rated the relations between the countries as good and friendly, which was also reflected in the successful cooperation in the past period.

Nešić, as the first Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina to visit this country, assessed this meeting as a continuation of the extraordinary relations between the two countries and that he was particularly pleased with Aliyev’s upcoming visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to the exceptional political relations between Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the need to strengthen economic relations was emphasized.

“The trade balance shows the exceptional importance of Azerbaijan for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I hope that in the future our economic cooperation will progress even more,” said Nešić.

He added that the Agreement on cooperation in the field of protection against natural and other disasters will be signed today in Baku.

“Both Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina were very prominent in helping Turkey after the recent devastating earthquakes and this shows the benefit of cooperation in that area. The benefit of that cooperation is not only bilateral, I am convinced that it can be of benefit much wider than the borders of our two countries”, Nesic said.

He thanked the president and the people of Azerbaijan for the valuable help during the pandemic, stressing that Bosnia and Herzegovina will never forget the 40,000 doses of vaccines against the coronavirus that this country sent to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
