The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, today addressed the participants of the 12th International Meeting of High Representatives in charge of security issues in St. Petersburg. He spoke about the influence of traditional values and the preservation of national identity as a factor in maintaining international security, peace and stability.

“The preservation of national identity and traditional values plays a key role in maintaining international security, peace and stability. Through the preservation of national identity, the people retain their identity, language, culture and customs, which are the basis for common understanding and connection between people within one state. Traditional values, such as respect for the elderly, solidarity between people and respect for tradition, contribute to the creation of harmony and togetherness in society,” said Nešić.

He stated that through the preservation of national identity, states strengthen their sovereignty and independence, thus ensuring stability and security within the borders of a country. National identity can also be key to maintaining peace and stability in international relations, because countries that are proud of their culture and history tend to build better relations with other countries, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.

“The preservation of traditional values also contributes to strengthening interpersonal relations and connecting people on a deeper level. Solidarity, respect and love for tradition are values that encourage mutual understanding and cooperation, thus building a stable and secure society. In conclusion, the preservation of national identity and traditional values are key to maintaining international security, peace and stability. Through nurturing their culture, language and traditions, nations build solid foundations for harmonious relations within the state and with other countries, which ensures long-term stability and security in the world,” said Minister Nešić.
