In connection with the statements of the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ružnić, about the “removal of a large amount of weapons” from the barracks “Adil Bešić” in Bihać, which caused anxiety in part of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s public, the Ministry of Defense of BiH issued a press release in which it clarified that the ministry regularly fulfills its obligations towards the Zagreb company Scout, based on the judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“In accordance with the Agreement on the final disposition of all rights and obligations on movable property that will continue to serve for defense purposes from March 27, 2008 (Doboj Agreement), and the contract with the company ‘SCOUT’ d.o.o. Zagreb, which are former entity ministries of Defense signed with SCOUT, as well as the judgments of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2018, the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina is obliged to deliver the contractual obligations to the mentioned company. handing over two Praga 30mm anti-aircraft guns to the company SCOUT”, announced the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ministry points out that “these are funds that are categorized as surplus, and as such are unusable and unpromising for the BiH MoD”.

“Also, this type of military equipment represents a great danger for the local community and beyond, and the BiH MoD is taking all available measures to solve them, in order to increase the level of security for the citizens of BiH, and reach the prescribed NATO standards,” said the Ministry of Defense of BiH.

So, as stated by the Ministry, it is about the implementation of four contracts that the Entity Ministries of Defense concluded with SCOUT, and the Ministry of Defense of BiH, after their termination, as the legal successor, continuously implements them.

“Given that the contracted items from the contract are located in several warehouses at several military locations, this means that the delivery is not made only from one military location and one entity, but from several military locations throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” they stateed from the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
