The contract relates to the donation of specialized off-road motor vehicles to the Armed Forces of BiH for the project to improve the capabilities of the military police within the Light Infantry Battalion Group of the Armed Forces of BiH.

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Defense Zukan Helez signed a contract on the donation of equipment from the NATO Defense Capacity Building (DCB) program for the project “Improving the Capabilities of the VP within L-INF-BG” with the Republic of Slovenia, on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

Before signing the contract, Minister Helez held a meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Slovenia, and the meeting was attended by H.E. Damijan Serdar, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to BiH, Brigadier General Burgar Tadej, Military Attaché of the Republic of Slovenia for BiH, and Slovenian Lieutenant Colonel Boštjan Lesjak – Head of the Technical and Military Advisory Department at NATO Headquarters Sarajevo.
The value of the purchased Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles with complete equipment is approximately 650,000 euros.

Also, this is the first donation of material resources to the Armed Forces of BiH from the list of NATO programs (DCB) assistance. As the interlocutors said during the meeting, it is planned to conduct training of personnel of the Armed Forces of BiH in the Republic of Slovenia who will operate the donated vehicles, certify them according to NATO standards, deliver the vehicles, handover the vehicles and finally put them into full function, thus improving the capabilities of the Armed Forces of BiH.

Minister Helez emphasized that it is an honor for him to host the high-ranking delegation of Slovenia, to express his gratitude for the assistance and support that this country has provided to the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH in the past period.
