Following visits to hospitals in Brčko and Tuzla, Italian Minister of Defence Mr.Guido Crosetto, accompanied by Chief of Defence General Luciano Portolano, EU Special Representative Ambassador Luigi Soreca, Italian Ambassador in Bosni and Herzegovina H.E. Sarah Eti Castellani, and COM EUFOR Major General Maurizio Fronda, visited Camp Butmir.
Upon arrival in Sarajevo, Delegation was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Defence of BiH Mr. Aleksandar Goganović, and Deputy Chief of Joint Staff of AF BiH Major General Mirsad Ahmić. During the visit, Minister Crosetto addressed Italian EUFOR personnel, expressing his profound sadness over the tragic loss of four lives in the helicopter accident. The visit paid tribute to the victims and honoured their service in the cause of peace.
All dignitaries extended their heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives and wished the injured a full and speedy recovery. They also expressed appreciation for the swift and effective assistance provided by local authorities, medical teams, as well as citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who provided selfless support and universally expressed sincere solidarity.
