Two more earthquakes measuring 5 and 4.5 on the Richter scale shook the Greek island of Santorini on Friday morning, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.
The 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck at 9:11 a.m. 30 kilometers northeast of the town of Fira on Santorini. Five minutes later, a 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck 12 kilometers northeast of Fira.
The Greek government declared a state of emergency on Santorini yesterday after a series of earthquakes hit the world-famous tourist island in the Aegean Sea in recent days.
More than 10,000 residents and tourists were evacuated.
