Ten years have passed since their major solo concert in Sarajevo; Dubioza Kolektiv will perform for the local audience once again.
The concert is scheduled for April 3rd, 2027, at Zetra, and according to the organizers, this will be the band’s largest solo performance in Bosnia and Herzegovina so far.
As the organizer of the concert stated, the OK team, since their last major 2017 performance in Sarajevo, Dubioza Kolektiv has built even stronger international career by performing in numerous famous festivals and concert stages across the world.
Among them are New Zealand’s WOMAD, Britain’s Glastonbury, and this year’s Wacken in Germany, which rank among the most famous music festivals on the international scene.
“With numerous sold-out concerts across Europe and performances in front of the audience in different continents, Dubioza built an international career by remaining truthful to its own sound, language, humor, and social satire. Their concerts have long since crossed linguistic and geographic borders, and the band became one of the most famous concert names from Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the statement reads.
The song “USA”, released in 2011, attracted additional attention. The song was originally envisioned as a satirical reflection on the departure of young people and the pursuit of the American Dream.
Its message received a new dimension after the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina qualified for the World Cup, when the chorus “I am from Bosnia, take me to America” became part of the fans’ celebration and spread across social media.
“The song published in 2011 envisioned as a satire about the “brain drain” from Bosnia and pursuit of the American Dream, this year has taken on a completely new meaning. The chorus ‘I am from Bosnia, take me to America’ became part of the fan celebrations due to the World Cup qualification and a global viral hit with millions of views worldwide,” the statement explained.
Dubioza Kolektiv enters 2027 with plans for a new album, as well as a busy concert schedule that, according to the organizers’ statement, could bring new records in the number of performances.
The Sarajevo concert will be the band’s first major performance in the coming year, after which new tours and performances around the world await them.
“They will hold the first major concert of the year at home, in front of a domestic audience, and then continue tours around the world,” it was stated.
Tickets for the concert in Zetra will be available via the Entrio.ba platform, and sales begin on Wednesday, October 28.
