On February 12, 2024, the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, will meet with the Deputy Director General for Internal Affairs at the European Commission, Oliver Onidi.

The meeting, which will be attended by representatives of the BiH team for negotiations on the Agreement on Cooperation with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX), led by the Director of the Border Police of BiH Mirko Kuprešaković, will be the official start of negotiations on the text of the agreement.

“After the establishment of operational cooperation with EUROPOL, this agreement is the next important step for BiH in the integration into the common European security area. In this way, the Ministry of Security fulfills one of the important assumptions for the opening of negotiations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union,” the institution announced.
