BiH opens the first honorary Consulate in the Czech Republic

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić solemnly opened the first honorary consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Czech Republic, in the city of Brno.

The opening of the honorary consulate was attended by BiH Ambassador to the Czech Republic Martina Mlinarević, honorary consul in Brno Tarik Altumbabić, co-founder of the Czech-Bosnian Chamber Damir Bajagilović, representatives of the Association of Citizens of the former Yugoslavia “Lastavica”, entrepreneurs from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Czech Republic and the director of the Department for the South and Southeast Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomaš Sunjog.

At the beginning of his address, Komšić pointed out that by appointing Tarik Altumbabić as honorary consul and opening the honorary consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Brno, he is taking another important step towards strengthening friendly ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic.

He said that this consulate is a symbol of close cooperation between the two countries, cultural exchange and common interests in various fields.

He emphasized the belief that the honorary consulate will further contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations and facilitate cooperation between citizens and business communities, placing emphasis on cooperation with local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić thanked everyone who contributed to this cooperation, saying that the honorary consul in Brno will always have the support of the BiH Presidency in establishing new ties and implementing new projects for the benefit of the citizens of both countries, the BiH Presidency announced.
