Members of the BiH Border Police Unit Velika Kladuša today prevented the smuggling of 71 foreign citizens, including thirty children, in the border zone in the area of that city.
Smuggling was discovered in the town of Komesarac, where two vans without license plates were found, driven by a BiH citizen whose initials are D.P. (21) and Croatian citizen V.K. (36), it was announced from the Border Police of BiH.
Foreign citizens did not have identification documents, and in the questionnaires for migrants they stated that they came from Iraq – 41 of them, while 19 of them were from Turkey, six from Nepal, four from Afghanistan and one from Sri Lanka.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was informed about the event, according to whose order D.P. was arrested. and V.K, suspected of the criminal offense of human smuggling.
Yesterday, border police officers at the Izačić crossing, on the second line of border checks, prevented the smuggling of three Gambian citizens, who were discovered in a “BMW” with UK license plates, in the trunk and on the back seat, covered with clothes.
In connection with this smuggling, the driver and passenger, citizens of Spain, who, according to the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, were arrested and handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina along with a report on the crime of people smuggling.
The vehicle and other evidentiary materials were temporarily confiscated, while the Gambian citizens were handed over to members of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further processing.
