At the Maljevac border crossing, the police prevented the smuggling of almost four kilograms of marijuana, and the driver of the car was caught as a suspect for the criminal offense of unauthorized production and drug trafficking and was brought to the competent state attorney’s office in Karlovac for questioning on Friday.
As the Karlovy Vary Police Department reported on Friday, the suspect is a 27-year-old citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was found with vacuum-sealed PVC wraps in his car on Wednesday, with which he wanted to enter Croatia from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Based on the order of the County Court in Karlovac, the police statement states, a search of the car was carried out and nine vacuum-sealed PVC wrappers containing a total of 3,824 grams of green plant matter similar to the drug cannabis marijuana were found and confiscated.
Evidence proceedings will follow, it was announced.
