BiH Presidency Chairman’s Speech at the UNSC attracted the Attention

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, assessed today that his speech in the UN Security Council, in which he criticized High Representative Christian Schmidt, attracted the attention of the ambassadors of member countries of the United Nations Security Council.

“What I can say with certainty is that the speech attracted the attention of the ambassadors of the member countries of the Security Council. At least I noticed that they were listening with interest because the speech deviated from the usual presentation of ambassadors in that institution. What one thinks about it must be related to the official political positions of the countries they represent,” said Komšić.

He also added that one should not think that, in this situation in the world, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the top topic of the UN Security Council.

“In any case, the performance was noticed and the governments of the member countries of the UN Security Council will be informed about it,” says Komšić.

During his stay in New York, he also met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

One of the topics was whether the UN has a solution for the war conflicts in Palestine and Ukraine, whether peace plans are being discussed or there is a possibility that everything will turn into a global conflict.

“Of course, I also discussed these issues with the UN Secretary General. I conveyed my support to him, because in these cases I can only speak for myself, his views on these issues. Unfortunately, the real power to stop this horror in Gaza is in other “power centers” in the world. However, the positions advocated by the UN Secretary General really have a lot of support from UN member countries. When you look at the overall situation in the world, that support is even unusually large and strong,” said Komšić, Fena reports.
