The Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, today in Abu Dhabi, as part of a one-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), met with the President of the International Criminal Police Organization Interpol, General Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi.

The meeting discussed further improving cooperation with this most important international police organization in the fight against transnational crime and strengthening regional security, as well as security challenges in the region and the world.

During the meeting, Cvijanović emphasized that “Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina are reliable partners in the fight against all types of crime”, which, as she emphasized, has been recognized by numerous bilateral and multilateral actors.

On this occasion, the President of Interpol thanked the BiH police agencies for their contribution to Interpol, such as their participation in the global operation against migrant smuggling and human trafficking Libertera 2, and stressed the importance of the presence of police officers at the organization’s headquarters in Lyon in the future, the Presidency of BiH announced.

This meeting comes after Interpol decided not to issue an arrest warrant for the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nenad Stevandić and the Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Radovan Višković.
