BiH Presidency in an Official Visit to the Holy See Today

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina will pay an official visit to the Holy See today.

Members of the Presidency of BiH will meet with the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV and the secretary for relations with other countries and international organizations of the State Secretariat of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, announced the Presidency of BiH.

Let us remind you that earlier there were disagreements regarding the planned visit of the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Vatican, after the members tried to organize separate meetings with the Pope.

The Holy See then decided to cancel all individual audiences, and a joint invitation was sent to the members of the Presidency, with the message that the Pope wants to receive the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina exclusively at a joint meeting.

This is the first time after 2018 that the Vatican insists on a joint meeting of all members of the BiH Presidency. The last joint meeting was held when Dragan Čović, Mladen Ivanić and Bakir Izetbegović were performing their duties.
