Member of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, spoke with the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina, François Delmas, about the current security and political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
The Ambassador of the Republic of France to BiH, François Delmas, expressed France’s full support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that preserving peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region is of utmost importance.
The interlocutors concluded that stability and security in Southeast Europe, and especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, are also important for European security.
It was emphasized that it is necessary to continue cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and international partners on strengthening democratic institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to continue with reforms that will ensure democratic order, the functionality of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its European and Euro-Atlantic path.
Bećirović pointed out the danger of anti-constitutional and anti-Dayton moves by the authorities of the Bosnian and Herzegovina entity of RS and the negative role of the leadership of the Republic of Serbia in these processes.
He particularly emphasized that the Declaration on the so-called Pan-Serbian Parliament, represents a dangerous project that can destabilize Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. It is necessary for the international community to clearly recognize these threats and react in a timely manner. Any ignoring of such threats can lead to serious consequences for the security and stability not only of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also of the wider region, said Bećirović.
Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović exchanged views with Ambassador Delmas on other important issues of international relations and bilateral cooperation, emphasizing Bosnia and Herzegovina’s commitment to intensifying efforts on an accelerated path towards the EU and NATO.
